Scripting

One of our award-winning producers will contact you within the next few days to ask some questions about your business and specific advertising expectations. This is your chance to suggest ideas, bring up concerns, mention other commercials you liked - and even those you didn't! Our producers will use this information to write a script tailored to your particular situation. But remember you know your business better than anyone, so please feel free to educate us on the details of your operation.

The scripting process can take a few days, and is probably the most important phase of production. When complete, the producer will ask you to sign the script and fax it back to our office to ensure your approval. At this point in production a professional voice talent records the audio portion of the script. Since this is done by non-Charter personnel, any changes after your approval may result in a fee to have the script re-recorded.

On the script itself you will see a section for audio, video and graphics. Your producer will attempt to give you the best possible visualization of your finished production.

Shooting

Next comes the big day! Although the idea of having cameras, lights, and a production crew running around your business might seem intimidating - or even inconvenient - there are a few things you can do to make the process smoother. First, the producer will ask you to choose a time of day that works best for everyone involved.

For example, if you operate a restaurant and want to showcase plenty of customers, rather than schedule the shoot during rush hour, a better idea might be to schedule just before or just after your busy time and use some friends or relatives as customers. This gives you more input on the commercial and gives the production crew time to stage better shots without getting in the way of the day to day operation of your business.

Shooting with our production team usually takes 2 to 3 hours. This is where the finished commercial begins to take shape as you see the shot suggestions in the script become reality on the screen. Frequently, the crew will shoot more than is necessary in order to select the best shots in the next stage of production.

Editing

This is where all the previous elements of production come together. The editor will combine audio, video and graphic segments to create your customized advertisement. Music is added from our extensive music library along with any finishing touches such as sound effects, logos, etc and a professional voice-over is mixed in from our stable of third-party providers.

When complete a digital file will be provided for you to view and approve your commercial. Additional copies on various formats including DVD are also available upon request for a small fee.
